The Capitals have been surging towards the top of the Eastern Conference standings as of late thanks to going 9-3 over their last 12 games, but will face a Flyers team on Thursday night that they’ve beat just once in their last seven tries. The Flyers have also been tough to beat at home as underdogs, as they’ve won 9 out of their last 11 games as home dogs.
It might be a great time, however, for the Caps to be visiting Philly, as the Flyers have struggled recently, going 1-7 in their last eight games. Washington has also responded well recently when they’ve had a day of rest between games, going 6-0 in their last six with a day off.
Capitals sniper Alex Ovechkin has been lights out in 37 career games vs the Flyers, registering 46 points against them. In 13 career games vs the Flyers, Caps goalie has Braden Holtby has two shutouts.
