MMA betting fans have been looking forward to the Bellator Season 6 Welterweight tournament that gets underway this weekend at Bellator 63 in Uncasville, Connecticut.
Action will be available on four quarterfinal fights. So far, odds on three of the fights are closely handicapped with only last season’s finalist Ben Saunders as a heavy favorite to advance to the semifinals.
The main event of the Bellator 63 fight card features Karl Amoussou looking to win two in a row for the first time since 2009. He will face the well-rounded Chris Lozano for a chance to move forward into the semifinals. Lozano is currently a -180 favorite over Amoussou, who is currently handicapped as a 5Dimes +140 underdog. We like the favored Lozano, who looks like he’s coming at a bargain price in this one.
In other action Ben Saunders is heavily favored against the undefeated Raul Amaya. Saunders will bring a world of experience with him and is currently handicapped as a -365 favorite. If Amaya can prove that he’s better than most experts think he is, and is able to upset Saunders, he will pay +255 at 5Dimes.
Bryan Baker will be looking to get back into the win column with a victory over Bellator veteran Carlos Pereira. Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have Baker as a -260 favorite, while the underdog line on Pereira currently sits at +180. Baker has wins against some big-name fighters and should be the better man on Friday night.
Undefeated David Rickels looks for his fourth straight Bellator win against first-time Bellator fighter Jordan Smith. Rickels is currently handicapped as a +150 underdog and looks like the best upset option on the Bellator 63 fight card. Smith sits at -190, and that number has been rising from the initial -165 at 5Dimes.
