Bellator 65 Betting Odds Overview

Another action-packed fight card is scheduled for Friday night as Bellator 65 goes to Atlantic City. On the line will be Zach Makovsky’s Bantamweight title and two spots in the Bellator Season 6 Bantamweight tournament semifinals.

Makovsky has been waiting a year and a half to defend his Bantamweight title and  now that the moment has arrived he will be in for a real challenge against Season 5 Bantamweight tournament winner Eduardo Dantas. Oddsmakers at Bovada agree that this will be a close fight and have the champion handicapped as a small -140 favorite.

Dantas is a former Shooto Bantamweight champion and is coming off six straight wins. The current +110 underdog line at Bovada may not offer a huge payout, but it may be worth the risk if he can get Makovsky in a compromising position on the ground.

Ed West will be looking to make it to the Bantamweight semifinals for the second season in a row with a win over Marcos Galvao. Bovada is currently offering +120 on West while Galvao action currently costs -145 at 5Dimes.

West offers some upset value but his strength is submissions, and that may not transfer well against a jiu-jitsu black belt. Because of that this one may be fought in the striking realm, and if that’s how it goes down West may have the edge.

The other Bellator Bantamweight tournament quarterfinal fight features Alexis Vila favored against Luis Nogueira. Oddsmakers at Bovada are currently offering a price of -175 on Vila to win, while 5Dimes will pay +150 for the Nogueira upset.

The former Olympic wrestling bronze medalist Vila looks to be at a bargain at that price and should be able control this fight from start to finish. Nogueira will be in against a fighter with wrestling skills like he’s never seen before, and will likely need to land a big shot to change the direction that this fight will likely take.
