Bellator Season 6 tournament action is back this weekend with Featherweight and Bantamweight tournament fights at Bellator 68 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The Featherweight tournament final between Marlon Sandro and Daniel Straus is handicapped very close - Sandro gets the slight nod at 5Dimes as the -150 favorite, while Straus will pay +120 for the upset.
As the lines indicate this is a close one to call, but Straus is a very good wrestler who has the skills to dominate this fight on the ground for all three rounds. It may not be an exciting fight to watch if it does go down that way, but the first rule in MMA betting is to go with the wrestler in a closely-handicapped fight.
The Bantamweight tournament semifinal is handicapped heavily in favor of Marcos Galvao over Travis Marx. 5Dimes is currently offering MMA odds of -280 on Galvao, while the Marx upset will pay +220.
Marx is a submission specialist and will be in tough against Galvao, who is a jiu-jitsu world champion. This fight will likely get to the ground where Galvao should win via submission or unanimous decision.
Welterweights Marius Zaromskis and Waachim Spiritwolf met in the cage in November 2010, with the fight ending only seconds after it started due to an accidental eye poke. Now Zaromskis is a 5Dimes -380 favorite over Spiritwolf, who will pay +290 for the upset.
The striking skills of Zaromskis will be the difference in this one, which could end up being a real bloodbath if Spiritwolf’s chin keeps him moving forward as he absorbs lots of punishment.
Carmelo Marrero and Seth Petruzelli are handicapped near even, with a slight edge at 5Dimes currently for Marrero - he comes at a -130 price while a Petruzelli upset will pay +100. Once Marrero gets this fight to the ground he should pound his way to victory.
