GSP Silva Superfight Odds

A GSP vs Anderson Silva superfight has been talked about for years and it may be closer to reality in 2013 than at any point in history.

Clearly, time is running out for these two dominant fighters to meet for a huge payday while both are still at the top of their game.

If it happens, online sportsbooks Sportsbook gives a slight odds edge to Silva, the longtime middleweight champion who boasts the longest winning streak and title-defense run in UFC history, with 16 straight wins and 10 title defenses.

The Brazilian is 37 and a bigger man than Canadian Georges St-Pierre, the longtime welterweight champion. GSP has won 10 straight overall since an upset loss in 2007 and has defended his belt seven times, most recently at UFC 154 against Carlos Condit.

That win sparked the debate for the superfight, probably at a catchweight of 177 pounds. The odds at Sportsbook actually favor this fight happening in 2013, with the 'yes' a 1/3 bet.

The location of such a fight, which would be the biggest in UFC history and would not besmirch the legacy of either man nor threaten either's belts, is also open for debate (and betting).

Cowboys Stadium in Dallas is the top betting choice at 5/4. The fight could pack 60,000 and sell a zillion pay-per-views.

Toronto could offer the same appeal, as could a soccer stadium in Brazil, but those would offer home-crowd advantage to one fighter.

Las Vegas is also in the mix at 6/1 odds, according to Sportsbook.
