Mir gets a shot at the UFC Heavyweight title as a replacement for Alistair Overeem, who was suspended for testing positive for elevated testosterone levels. Mir is currently a big +425 underdog at 5Dimes and will likely need to get the fight to the ground and find a way to submit his jiu-jitsu black belt opponent in order to become a three-time champ.
Dos Santos will be making his first title defense and is currently a -500 favorite at . The hard-hitting champion is an MMA betting stud in the UFC, and is expected to lay heavy leather on his opponent for the first or second-round victory. Former champ Cain Velasquez will look to get back on track against a giant of an opponent in Antonio Silva. Velasquez is supposedly healthy again and is expected to get inside Silva’s attack and out-technique the bigger man. He’s currently a -375 favorite and could cost more by fight time.
Silva is coming off a KO loss to Daniel Cormier and will be making his UFC debut against Velasquez. He will need to use his size and power and beat down the former champ the way dos Santos did; if he can, Silva will pay UFC odds of +315 at 5Dimes for the upset.
MMA betting lines are closely handicapped in the Stefan Struve vs. Lavar Johnson fight. Struve is currently getting a slight nod as the 5Dimes -125 favorite, while the Johnson bet pays +105. This fight could go either way and will most likely not get out of the first round.
