MMA Odds: Bellator 61 Preview
MMA fans are happy to see Season 6 of the Bellator Fighting Championships underway, and this weekend’s Bellator 61 betting action features four Middleweight tournament fights and a Heavyweight main event.
Last season at Bellator 59 Eric Prindle and Thiago Santos fought to a no-contest following a low-blow. Now they will find out who gets the Bellator Heavyweight title shot later in the year, and oddsmakers at 5Dimes think Santos will dominate.
As the -485 favorite Santos should be able to get this fight to the ground and control Prindle for an easy win. Prindle will look to keep the fight standing and land big strikes for a KO win. If Prindle can land a big shot he will pay +350 at 5Dimes.
Maiquel Falcao is currently a 5Dimes -290 favorite to win over Norman Paraisy in his Middleweight tournament fight, while the Paraisy upset pays +230. One has to question the heart of Paraisy, who once failed to answer a bell for the second round in a fight for a chance to get into the Ultimate Fighter house.
Victor Vianna is a slight -170 favorite against Brian Rogers, who is currently handicapped as the +140 underdog. We like the way Vianna matches up against Rogers and think the -170 5Dimes price is a bargain. Rogers will look to finish the fight right away, and his chances to win will decrease as the fight goes deeper.
Vyacheslav Vasilevsky is a big 5Dimes -265 favorite in his fight against Victor O’Donnell, and he will be looking to kept the fight standing to dominate with strikes. He will need to stuff the takedown attempts of O’Donnell, who will currently pay +205.
Giva Santana comes at a bargain price of -185 at 5Dimes against the undefeated Bruno Santos. Expect Santana to use his submission skills to finish Santos sometime in the first round. If Santos can find a way to come out on top the upset line currently pays +155.
