MMA Odds: Johnson vs. McCall
The UFC returns to FX this weekend with a four-fight main card. MMA betting action is already available on the UFC on FX main card fights, and three of them are closely handicapped.
The headliner on the fight card is a rematch between Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall. The first fight was judged a draw, so the lines reflect that this time around. Johnson is once again a favorite to win, but at 5Dimes that will only cost -145.
McCall looked strong in the later part of the first fight and could come into this one with much more confidence. As the Bovada +125 UFC odds underdog, the McCall upset has lots of MMA betting value.
Mike Pyle has compiled a 5-3 record in the UFC and will be in against a tough experienced opponent at UFC on FX. Pyle will face a rejuvenated Josh Neer as the 5Dimes -190 favorite, while Neer is currently handicapped at UFC odds of +165 at 5Dimes and will be looking to push his current win streak to seven fights.
Pyle has only lost to the best in the division in recent years so the question in this matchup is whether or not Neer has improved enough to fit into that category. If you can find prop action on Fight of the Night options, this one is a good candidate.
Charlie Brenneman has used his wrestling skills to climb the Welterweight rankings but has had trouble against elite strikers who can defend the takedown. He will be in the Octagon as the 5Dimes +158 underdog against a lethal striker and submission artist in Erick Silva.
If Silva is able to defend against the wrestling skills of Brenneman he should have little trouble taking out his opponent as the Bovada -175 favorite.
