Ronda Rousey Betting: Armbar Odds
There may come a day when ‘armbar’ is as synonymous with Ronda Rousey as ‘google’ is with searching.
And one sportsbook is offering a special UFC 170 Ronda Rousey betting prop on whether the women's bantamweight champion will win her fight against Sara McMann with that submission.
Bovada made Rousey a -160 favorite to win by armbar with an underdog position of +120 on the underdog position.
“In a sport like MMA where a lucky punch can end it quickly or a tentative fighter can easily produce a decision, making a fighter a -160 bet to win by a particular method is great UFC betting value,” said Jack Randall of OddsShark.com.
“Throw in the fact that her opponent is an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling and you know McMann is no novice on the mat and has defended a few armbar attempts in her life.”
Rousey has won all eight of her pro fights by locking up the armbar, all but one of them in the first round.
As of Friday morning, she was -450 at Bovada to win this fight as more money came in on the champion late in the week.
The co-Main Event also features a huge underdog in newcomer Patrick Cummins. He took the fight against Daniel Cormier on two weeks notice after Rashad Evans got hurt.
The card goes Saturday at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Watch for updated UFC 170 betting lines and fun props at Bovada.
