Neither Mike Russow and Cyrile Diabate were big names on the UFC 114 card, but both were big names for UFC underdog bettors. Russow stunned Todd Duffee, knocking him out in the third round as a +250 underdog at . Duffee had been a -325 favorite on the UFC odds list.
In an earlier match, Frenchman Diabate took out Luis Arthur Cane, the second-biggest favorite on the entire card at -500. Bettors who backed the upset were paid out at +325 ($100 wager earned $325 payout). John Hathaway also got in on the underdog fun, upsetting Diego Sanchez in a match that presumably sends the loser back to the welterweight division.
