Miocic vs Ngannou Betting Odds

If there was any doubt about how good Francis Ngannou is, “The Predator” put that to sleep when he did the same to Alistair Overeem at UFC 218. After Ngannou’s vicious knockout of the No. 1 contender, the Cameroonian-born fighter is next in line for a UFC heavyweight title shot.

“When you look at him, he looks like the heavyweight champion of the world,” said UFC president Dana White about Ngannou after confirming he is set to challenge Stipe Miocic for the belt. “The guy’s a monster. He continues to get better.”

With the backing of the UFC, fans globally and his absurd punching power, Ngannou has opened as a -150 favorite for his title bout vs Miocic at UFC 220. The reigning heavyweight champion found himself coming back at +120 – the first time he would be an underdog since he won the title from Fabricio Werdum.

Ngannou has left a wake of broken bodies on his trail to the UFC championship. Since joining the organization, he is 6-0 with five victories by knockout and one by submission (aka maiming). When you combine Ngannou’s natural size and athleticism with his rapidly growing skills, there is no doubt he will wear the gold at some point.

Miocic does seem to be getting overlooked in this bout, as he may have the most technically sound striking game in the entire division. The champion is amazing at controlling the distance of a fight, which allows him to determine the rules of engagement. Plus, he is a former D1 wrestler who has more than adequate grappling skills.
