Strikeforce: Herschel Walker Odds

Fight fans finally get to see former NFL star Herschel Walker step into the cage again and display his fifth-degree taekwondo black belt skills. In his second pro fight Walker will take on Scott Carson at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg.

Strikeforce isn’t taking any chances with their big-draw star and have him matched up against an opponent that will have difficulty with his striking skills.

Carson (4-1) is a submission fighter that can be dominated and beaten down if he cannot get the fight to the ground. He was on a ten-year layoff from competition and was destroyed in his only fight since his return. He will be an MMA betting line +275 underdog at Sportsbook and will need Walker to gas out to get the upset victory.

Walker (1-0) will bring a high level of aggression and strength and should dominate and destroy Carson inside of the first round. He is a big -300 favorite at Sportsbook despite his inexperience, but should be safe money to go 2-0 to start his MMA career.

The undercard of the Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg event has a couple other interesting MMA betting lines that might provide an edge. In the Trevor Prangley (23-6-1) vs. Roger Gracie (3-0) fight the MMA betting line at Sportsbook has Gracie as a slim -140 favorite.

That’s a very cheap price on Gracie, who is undefeated in MMA and is one of the best Brazilian Jiu-jitsu fighters in the world.

Trevor Prangley may be an experienced MMA fighter but he has never seen anything even close to the submission skills of Gracie. To beat Gracie he will have to avoid the fight going to the ground in any manner and will need to hurt Gracie to control the action.

Even if he does manage the upset he will only pay +115 at Sportsbook. A bet on Gracie in this fight looks like it will provide the biggest edge on the card.

The safest money on the Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg card has to be the Bobby Stack (8-1) vs. Isaiah Hill (4-7-1) fight. As big as the Sportsbook -485 MMA betting line is on Stack, he’s easily worth the risk in this fight. Hill has only one win in his last 10 fights and has been out of action for a year and a half.

If that’s not safe money we can’t imagine a situation that is - bet on Bobby Stack to make quick work of Hill’s return.
