UFC 115 Betting Preview
A couple of UFC legends meet up in the octagon this weekend when Chuck Liddell faces Rich Franklin at UFC 115. Liddell and Franklin are both former UFC champions looking to rebound from losses in their last bout. Both are also known for their raw knockout power, which means either fighter could win the fight if they connect with the right shot.
Liddell's career appears to be winding down with only one win in his last five fights, and that may be the main reason why the oddsmakers aren't backing him this time. Franklin is the favorite in the bout at -145, while Liddell is a +115 underdog at Bovada.

It's been more than a year since Liddell last fought at UFC 97 in April 2009. He faced Mauricio Rua that night and lost by TKO in the first round. Including the loss to Rua, Liddell has been defeated by some pretty high-profile fighters in his most recent fights, including losses to Rashad Evans, Keith Jardine, and Quinton Jackson. His only win in his last five fights came against Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99. He enters this weekend's fight a lifetime 21-7 with 13 wins by knockout.
Franklin's last fight was at UFC 103 in September. He faced Vitor Belfort and lost by TKO in the first round. Franklin has only one win in his last three fights and he's posted a 3-3 record in his last six. The other two losses were against Dan Henderson and Anderson Silva. He's defeated Wanderlei Silva, Matt Hamill, and Travis Lutter over that span.
His lifetime mark heading into his fight with Liddell is 26-5 with one no-contest and 14 wins by KO. Also on the main event card this weekend is a heavyweight bout between Mirko Filipovic (aka Mirko Cro Cop) and Patrick Barry. MMA veteran Filipovic may have more experience than MMA newcomer Barry, but the young gun Barry is the favorite in the fight at -150. Filipovic is listed as a +120 underdog at Bovada.
Barry sports a 5-1 record in his young MMA career, with all five wins coming by KO. He last fought at UFC 104 in October where he defeated Antoni Hardonk by TKO, which received the Knockout of the Night for the event.
Filipovic last fought at UFC 103 in September where he defeated Anthony Perosh by TKO. He's 3-1 in his last four fights with all three wins by TKO. If Filipovic has regained his knack for delivering knockouts (he's a lifetime 26-7-2 with one no-contest and 20 wins by KO) he could upset Barry this weekend.
