UFC 139 Betting: Shogun vs. Henderson
The joyful overdose of MMA action and betting continues Saturday as UFC 139 odds begin hitting the sportsbook menus.
This week it’s a Light Heavyweight contender matchup between Dan “Hendo” Henderson and Mauricio “Shogun” Rua headlining UFC 139. The co-main event will pit Urijah Faber against former WEC Bantamweight champ Brian Bowles.
Mauricio Rua bounced back from his one-sided title loss to Jon Jones with a dominant win over Forrest Griffin in his native Brazil. Now he will face MMA legend Henderson and will need a win if he hopes to get a shot at the UFC Light Heavyweight title anytime soon.

As the Bovada -125 favorite, Rua’s mix of Muay Thai and jiu-jitsu skills should be enough for the win over the aging Henderson.
Henderson may have put an end to the premiere fight career of Fedor Emelianenko to earn a new contract in the UFC, but he’ll be in against some very stiff competition in Rua. Hendo will need to utilize his wrestling and ground-and-pound skills to be victorious, but if he can do that the upset win will pay UFC odds of +120 at 5Dimes.
Two former WEC champions will battle in the Bantamweight division when Urijah Faber steps into the Octagon against Brian Bowles. Faber is 4-4 in his last eight fights yet is still handicapped at Bovada as a -210 favorite. The Bowles upset bet will pay UFC odds of +190 at 5Dimes and could be the best MMA betting pick on the card.
If Wanderlei Silva has one more brawl left in him he could prove profitable as the +120 underdog at 5Dimes against Cung Lee. Lee makes his Octagon debut as the -140 favorite.
