UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II Odds

The most anticipated fight of the year is nearly upon us, and MMA betting action is already available for the UFC 148 card.

On the line will be the UFC Middleweight title in a rematch between pound-for-pound No. 1 Anderson Silva and the only man to nearly beat him in the Octagon, Chael Sonnen.

Silva is the most successful and dominant champion the UFC has ever seen. With a record of 14-0 in the Octagon, Silva is usually a heavy favorite going into his fights.

However, since he was controlled for four rounds in their first meeting oddsmakers at Sportsbook are offering just a -265 line on the champ; surprisingly that price has come down from an initial offering of -325.

If you think that Sonnen can get the job done and stay out of Anderson’s submission attempts, he will pay UFC odds of +225 at Sportsbook. Sonnen may have a mental edge over the champ, but he will surely face a tougher task than in their first meeting.

Tito Ortiz will make his final Octagon appearance against Forrest Griffin in what will be a rematch of a very close fight fought nearly six years ago. The two aging former UFC Light Heavyweight champions are expected to put on a good show, but it’s Griffin who is currently a -320 favorite at Sportsbook.

The Ortiz upset is unlikely but The Huntington Beach Bad Boy showed against Ryan Bader that he can still compete. A successful bet on Ortiz will pay +260 at Sportsbook and should probably be worth more considering he has gone 1-6-1 in his last eight fights.

In another Middleweight fight submission specialist Demian Maia is currently a slight +115 Sportsbook underdog against Dong Hyun Kim. Kim currently costs UFC odds of -130 at Sportsbook, but it's Maia that looks like the best option for an upset payout on the UFC 148 fight card.
