A UFC super fight is coming up this weekend for MMA betting fans as former UFC Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar challenges current UFC Featherweight champion Jose Aldo for bragging rights at 145 pounds.
Action on this fight is currently leaning to the champion as Aldo is an MMA odds -220 favorite at 5Dimes. He’s been a UFC Featherweight wrecking machine for years and there’s little reason to expect that trend to stop this Saturday night.
He’s likely going to chop the legs out from under Edgar and win via decision after punishing his opponent for five rounds.
The Edgar upset will currently pay UFC odds of +185 at and will only happen if the fight goes into the later rounds. If Edgar can take all that Aldo dishes out, he could finish strong for the late-round KO or submission victory.
Rashad Evans looks to have an easy day at the office at UFC 156 when he faces Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. The UFC odds price on Evans is currently -450 at and still looks like a bargain against a far inferior opponent.
The Little Nog upset will pay as much as +375 at 5Dimes and should be worth more.
Alistair Overeem returns to the Octagon following a year-long suspension to face Antonio Silva. Overeem would be fighting for the title if the timing of his return was better, but instead he’s a -360 favorite in a tune-up fight against Silva.
Expect a violent, rapid end to this fight with Overeem scoring a first-round KO via kicks and punches. Even the fat +300 MMA odds upset option on Silva at isn’t at all tempting against a wrecking machine like Overeem.
