UFC 159: Jones vs. Sonnen Odds

Chael Sonnen may have managed to talk his way into a job as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter 17, but now it’s time to pay the price of fame and face Jon Jones in the Octagon for the UFC Light Heavyweight title.

UFC 159 action is available on all 12 fights including lots of prop options on the main card bouts. The main event between Jones and Sonnen is handicapped heavily in Jones’ favour, but Sportsbook has 28 prop options from which to choose.

Moneyline action has Jones as a Sportsbook -800 favorite, while the Sonnen upset pays UFC odds of +650 at Sportsbook. [ See full list of UFC 159 prop odds including method of victory and +1600 Sonnen submission line ]

Better value on this fight can be found in the prop action where Fight doesn’t go to a decision (-485), Jones wins by KO/TKO (+160), Jones wins by submission (+120), or Jones wins inside the distance (-374) are all cheaper options and can work together in a parlay bet.

Michael "The Count" Bisping       -170

Alan "The Talent" Belcher           +140

Despite being closely handicapped the fight between Michael Bisping and Alan Belcher has 18 prop options available at Sportsbook. Bisping is currently a small MMA odds -165 favorite at Sportsbook while the Belcher upset pays +150 at Sportsbook.

We like the upset value on Belcher in this one, especially packaged together with a couple of prop options.

Also with 18 prop options available is the Heavyweight fight between Roy Nelson and Cheick Kongo. In what appears to be a potential slugfest on paper, Nelson is likely to take this fight to the ground where he will hold a huge edge.

As the UFC odds -230 favorite at Sportsbook, Nelson’s grappling should be the difference. It’s unlikely that Kongo will be able to stop Nelson and pay out on the MMA odds +200 line currently being offered at Sportsbook.
