UFC 165: Jones vs. Gustafsson Odds
A Light Heavyweight title fight will headline UFC 165 on September 21 and the sportsbooks are already offering UFC odds on all five of the main card fights.
In the main event Jon Jones is the heavy chalk in the sixth defense of his UFC Light Heavyweight championship. The latest challenger is No. 1 contender Alexander Gustafsson, who will hope to pose a new puzzle for the champ to solve with his elite striking skills and equally tall frame. MMA odds at Bovada current have Jones handicapped at -700 to win, while the Gustafsson upset will pay +500 at 5Dimes. This fight may be one of the most predictable title fights in a long time. Gustafsson's lone loss was at the hands of Phil Davis’ wrestling skills, and there’s no way that Greg Jackson and Jon Jones won’t have a game plan that consists of putting Gustafsson on his back and beating him up until the ref stops the fight.

Seven prop options offer better prices like the “Jones inside the distance” at UFC odds of -380 or the -145 option on the fight ending Under 2.5 rounds. How tough Gustafsson is will determine how long this fight will last, and it’s hard to imagine him eating elbow sandwiches for more than 2.5 rounds.

In the co-main event Eddie Wineland gets his shot at UFC Interim gold when he tries to hand Renan Barao his first loss in eight years. As a +450 underdog, Wineland has little chance to pull off the upset against an opponent who possesses a superior skill set in all aspects of MMA.
Action on Barao to win has steadily risen from -475 to the current -600 price, but if that’s too rich for your bankroll the -140 price on the Under 2.5 rounds prop option at 5Dimes looks like a better value.
In the battle of the former NFL players turned fighters Matt Mitrione is currently a 5Dimes -125 favorite to beat Brendan Schaub, who will pay +105 for the upset. Both fighters need a victory in an impressive fashion, making the Under 1.5 rounds option at +125 very tempting.
