UFC 166: Velasquez vs. dos Santos

Sportsbooks have a wide array of moneyline and prop bet options available for the UFC 166 card.

Headlining the card will be the long awaited trilogy match between current UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and former champ Junior dos Santos.

As of Friday, online sportsbook Bovada was seeing about 55% of the betting action on the champion with 45% on the challenger as a +170 underdog.

Also on the card will be a Heavyweight contender fight between Daniel Cormier and Roy Nelson where Big Country is a tempting +450 favorite.

MMA odds at 5Dimes for the main event have Velasquez handicapped as the -200 favorite to retain his title, while dos Santos will pay +170 at Bovada. Velasquez dominated the last time these two warriors met and oddsmakers expect more of the same this time around.

As well, 29 different UFC props options at 5Dimes offer some added value, especially if you think this five-round fight won’t go the distance this time around. The fight doesn’t go to a decision option comes at a price of -180, and the dos Santos by KO/TKO is worth +255. Velasquez by TKO/KO will pay +190.

Cormier is handicapped as a much bigger favorite at Bovada with a price of -550 to win, while the Nelson upset will pay as much as +450 at 5Dimes. Prop options on this fight that make the most sense are Nelson by KO/TKO at +550 and Cormier by decision at -150.

In a three-rounder the Cormier decision option looks like it has the most value while the KO option on Nelson is the most likely way he will win if he can manage the upset.

Also on the UFC 166 fight card is a Lightweight matchup with contender implications between Diego Sanchez and former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez. Melendez is a heavy favorite at -650 at Bovada while the Sanchez upset will pay as much as +550 at 5Dimes.

We like the prop option on Melendez by decision at -160, and if you’re a big Sanchez fan the Sanchez by TKO/KO option will pay a generous +2300.
