UFC 196: McGregor vs Diaz Odds

The superfight between UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will not be taking place at UFC 196. News broke early February 23 that RDA had broken his foot in preparation for the bout and was forced to withdraw from the fight.

With UFC 196 being a marquee card set in Las Vegas, the UFC quickly contacted fighters to see who wanted the opportunity to face McGregor with less than two weeks' notice. Nate Diaz stepped up and will be facing off against the polarizing Irishman on March 5 at 170 lbs. McGregor currently sits as a sizable -400 favorite, with Diaz coming back at +325 at online sportsbook 5Dimes.

Diaz is one of the most effective, high-volume boxers in the UFC today. He is constantly moving forward behind his jab and will frequently throw punches in bunches. Diaz has next to no wrestling ability, as he often dedicates his time to strictly standup and Ju-Jitsu work.

This will be the fourth time in McGregor’s eight UFC fights that he will face a different opponent on the card than he was originally scheduled to. McGregor is 3-0 in that spot within the UFC, with two of those victories coming via stoppage.

Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz Odds

Odds as of February 26 at 5Dimes

  • Conor McGregor -400
  • Nate Diaz +325
