UFC 200: Tate vs Nunes Betting Odds

Miesha Tate’s first title defense won’t come against Holly Holm or Ronda Rousey. No, ‘Cupcake’ will defend her newly won UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200.

Tate opened as a -250 favorite against the Brazilian, who is coming back at +195 according to Sportsbook.

Cupcake enters her first title defense riding a five-fight winning streak, with four of those victories coming by way of decision. Tate is not the most athletic and she doesn’t have perfect technique, but there is no doubting her tenacity and heart in the Octagon.

Nunes is 5-1 since joining the UFC with her lone loss coming to Cat Zigano in 2014. Nunes is a finisher, as ‘The Lioness’ has picked up 11 of her 12 career wins via stoppage, with nine of those coming in the first round. The biggest knock on Nunes is her cardio, as we have seen her gas out several times after an early flurry.

With Tate’s ability to weather early storms and stretch out a fight, it makes sense that she opens as the big fave against Nunes.
