UFC Odds: Alves vs. Kampmann
MMA betting fans have another fight card to wager on only six days after UFC 144.
This Friday night UFC on FX 2 will be headlined by a Welterweight battle between two of the best in the division, as well as two semi-final Flyweight tournament fights.
The headliner for the UFC on FX 2 fight card will feature hard-hitting Thiago Alves trying to get himself back into title contention with a win over Martin Kampmann.
Oddsmakers at 5Dimes seem to think that he holds an edge against the striking skills of his Danish opponent and currently have him handicapped as the UFC odds -135 favorite.
Kampmann should not be counted out in this one and will pay UFC odds of +115 at 5Dimes. He has the striking skills to stand with Alves and also has the option to take the fight to the ground if he can’t hang with him.
Demetrious Johnson will finally get to fight a man his own size this Friday as the former Bantamweight contender will get to step into the Octagon at 125 pounds. However, his opponent Ian McCall is no pushover, and Mighty Mouse will need to earn his spot in the finals of the tournament.
Current lines at 5Dimes have Johnson as the -330 favorite, while McCall will pay +270 for the upset.
The other Flyweight tournament semi-final looks like a rare mismatch in the UFC. Joseph Benavidez has been matched up against the relatively unknown Yasuhiro Urushitani and will come with a big UFC odds -950 5Dimes price.
The unlikely upset action on Urushitani will currently pay +625 and could climb more by fight time.
Court McGee will face his toughest opponent to date when he steps into the Octagon against Costantinos Philippou. Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have this fight close with the edge going to McGee at -155. Philippou will pay +115 and could easily pay off.
