UFC Fight Night 23 Odds

Evan Dunham will be looking to put on an impressive show and put himself back into the top contender picture in the UFC Lightweight division as a betting favorite against Melvin Guillard this Saturday at UFC Fight Night 23 – Fight for the Troops 2.

Dunham (11-1-0, and a -235 favorite at 5Dimes ) suffered his first loss in his last fight against former champion Sean Sherk. The decision was at best debatable and many feel that the decision should have gone to Dunham. Guillard (26-8-2) has won three straight in the Octagon is an improved fighter with special athletic abilities.

Despite Guillard’s experience and recent improvements he will come into this fight as the Bovada +200 underdog. At that price he’s not worth the risk against Dunham, who just might be the next big thing in the UFC Lightweight division. Dunham looks like safe money for a late-round KO or a decision win.

In the co-main event heavyweight TUF alum Matt Mitrione (3-0-0) will face a tough test against hard-hitting Canadian Tim Hague (12-4-0). Hague is returning to the Octagon after leaving the promotion for his last two fights.

Now he’s back and hopes to stick around for awhile, but first he’ll have to beat a -250 favored Matt Mitrione, who seems to improve each time out. We would go with Mitrione in this one, mainly due to his toughness and will to win.

An interesting Featherweight matchup between Mark Hominick (19-8-0) and George Roop (11-6-1) should deliver some fireworks for fight fans. On the line for Hominick is a  shot at Jose Aldo’s UFC Featherweight strap at UFC 129 in his hometown of Toronto.

If you like Dunham like we do, the cheapest price on him is a -225 line at Bovada. The biggest pay out for a Roop upset can be found at Bovada for +200.

Another Heavyweight matchup on the UFC Fight Night 23 – Fight for the Troops 2 card offers up a good chance to cash in on an upset. Both Pat Berry (5-2-0) and Joey Beltran (12-4-0) have KO power and could end the fight with one good shot.

The cheapest price on Barry is a -200 line at Sportsbook.ag, and the biggest payout on a Beltran upset will be worth +180 at 5Dimes.

Just because the two are going to stand in the middle of the Octagon and trade blows, we recommend this fight as having the best upset payday potential on the card. Anything can happen in this one, and at +180 Beltran has more than a puncher’s chance.
