UFC Fight Night: Machida vs. Munoz

UFC betting action returns this weekend with a full 12-fight card. The UFC Fight Night card will be headlined by Lyoto Machida vs. Mark Munoz, and in the co-main event Melvin Guillard will look to remain relevant in the Lightweight division with a win over Ross Pearson.

Lyoto Machida has stayed away from the UFC Middleweight division for most of his career because his friend and training partner Anderson Silva was the long-time champion. Now that Silva has dropped the belt to Chris Weidman the door has opened for the former UFC Light Heavyweight champ to make a run at the Middleweight belt.

As the heavy UFC odds -360 favorite Machida is expected to dominate Munoz for what will most likely be a unanimous decision victory. The Munoz upset will currently pay +300 at 5Dimes, but the best value looks like it’s in the OVER 2.5 rounds option that is currently handicapped at MMA odds of -170.

Melvin Guillard has brought UFC betting fans some of the most exciting finishes over the last few years and oddsmakers expect him to do the same against Ross Pearson this weekend. As the -140 favorite at 5Dimes, Guillard should be too much for Pearson to handle in a stand-up battle and he should have the takedown defense to stuff any attempts Pearson may have at getting the fight to the mat.

The +125 MMA odds underdog option on Pearson has some value, but it’s the +100 UNDER 1.5 rounds bet that looks like it has the best chance of paying out upset action. Expect fireworks and a wild finish to this one.

Jimi Manuwa will look to push his undefeated streak to 14 straight with a win over Ryan Jimmo at UFC Fight Night this weekend. Jimmo will bring heavy hands and a big heart, which means Manuwa will have his hands full trying to pay out on the -170 UFC odds favorite line.
