UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Nelson

UFC betting action returns on April 11 when UFC Fight Night 39 travels to Abu Dhabi. Headlining the event will be a Heavyweight fight between former contenders Roy Nelson and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. The card also includes the return of Clay Guida plus undefeated Welterweight prospect Ryan LaFlare.

UFC odds are already available on four UFC Fight Night 39 fights, and three of them are very closely handicapped. In the main event Roy Nelson is a slim -165 favorite on the UFC Fight Night odds, while a Nogueira win will pay +135 at 5Dimes. MMA odds are also available on the OVER/UNDER which has been set at 1.5 rounds with a price of -170 currently available on the OVER option.

In the co-main event Clay Guida is coming at a good price against Tatsuya Kawajiri. The Carpenter is currently a UFC odds -140 favorite at 5Dimes to rebound from the first KO loss of his career and should be able to win via decision with aggression and pace. With the OVER/UNDER set at 2.5 rounds, the -245 option on the OVER outcome doesn’t offer as much value as the Guida win.

There’s not much value in the 5Dimes UFC betting lines +110 upset payday on Kawajiri either, as he does not possess the power to stop Guida. He will have to find a way to get Guida on the mat and utilize his submission skills to stand a chance at a victory, and getting a buzz-saw like Guida on his back is no easy feat.

Easily the most relevant and appealing UFC Fight Night 39 matchup is the Welterweight fight between John Howard and Ryan LaFlare. 5Dimes currently has UFC Fight Night odds of -290 on the undefeated LaFlare while the Howard upset is worth +230. A bit of value is available on the OVER 2.5 rounds option currently handicapped at -230, mainly because Howard is very tough and has not been stopped in a fight in over four years.
