MMA betting fans will finally get some UFC action following a long break between fight cards, as UFC on Fuel TV 2 is slated for April 14.
The headliner on this card features two Light Heavyweight contenders whose careers are on opposite paths. Thiago Silva has gone 1-2-1 in his last four fights as he battles through a serious neck injury, while opponent Alexander Gustafsson is 5-1 in the Octagon including four straight finishes.
Oddsmakers at 5Dimes have Gustafsson as a -230 favorite over Silva, while the Brazilian will pay +190 for the upset. Silva always brings an element of being able to KO his opponent at any time and could be a good underdog choice if his neck has healed 100% over the past year.
Marine hero Brian Stann will get an easier opponent to deal with at UFC on Fuel TV 2 than he had at UFC 136. Coming off a submission loss to No. 1 Middleweight contender Chael Sonnen, Stann gets Alessio Sakara to tune up on in front of the television audience.
Stann is currently a -375 favorite to win and will likely cost more than that by mid-April. Sakara is 5-5 in his last 10 UFC fights and will likely need a great performance to continue collecting UFC paychecks.
Even at the 5Dimes underdog UFC odds of +320, Sakara doesn’t look tempting at all.
