Lightweight contenders Jim Miller and Melvin Guillard will clash on the MMA odds board in the UFC on FX main event on Friday night with title-shot relevancy on the line.
This is a big fight in the stacked Lightweight division with the winner likely getting back into the top four of the division rankings.
The UFC on FX fight card will also feature a heavyweight bout between Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft.

The Guillard vs. Miller bout is a close fight to handicap as both fighters have ways in which they can win. Miller will look to take the fight to the ground and submit or ground-and-pound out a win while Guillard will be looking for the standing KO victory via strikes. Currently oddsmakers at 5Dimes have UFC odds of -165 on Miller to win, while Guillard will pay +145 as the underdog.
Guillard has had difficulty with top-tier wrestlers in the past but showed a vastly improved take-down defense against Shane Roller and Evan Dunham in 2011. If he can keep the fight standing he will have a good chance to pay off on the UFC odds of +145. That payout will likely shrink as the week goes on since the line has been moving toward Guillard.
Miller is a tough mixed martial artist who brings a lethal ground game. If he can get his hands on Guillard and manage to take him down Miller has more than the skills required to finish him on the ground; the question is can Miller handle the attack he’s sure to face? Miller has been in the Octagon against the best in the division and has never been stopped in his 23-fight career.
In a battle of Heavyweights Barry will look to rebound from two straight losses when he takes on Morecraft. Both fighters need a win, and that usually means a war. Check in later in the week at 5Dimes for odds on this fight and the rest of the UFC on FX card.
