UNC remains Final Four odds faves
The Final Four is here and the big question is, can Michigan State or Villanova pull off an upset or is a Connecticut versus North Carolina final in the cards?
No. 2 Michigan State (30-6) vs. No. 1 Connecticut Huskies -4 (31-4) O/U 133.5 6:07 PM ET
The Final Four odds at BetUS has the Huskies as 4-point favorites with a total of 133.5. The number has not moved much since Bovada set its college basketball wagering lines earlier this week.
The Spartans come into this game after beating Louisville 64-52 in the Elite 8, while the Huskies beat Missouri 82-75 in their last game.
Even though the Spartans are the underdog in this game they will have a bit of a home court advantage, as this Final Four game will be held at Ford Field in Detroit.
For the Spartans to win this game, they will have to play defense like they did in their win over Louisville and C Goran Sutton (10.1 ppg 8.1 rpg) will have to repeat his performance of his last game against the Cardinals going for 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
The Spartans are not a high-scoring team and they are all about defense. They only have three players that average in double figures in G Kalin Lucas (14.6 ppg), F Raymar Morgan (10.2 ppg), and Sutton.
Connecticut has a legit all-around team with two guards averaging at least 13 ppg along with F Jeff Adrien (13.7 ppg) and C Hasheem Thabeet (13.5 ppg). The Spartans have to contain both Adrien (10 rpg) and Thabeet (10.9 rpg) on the boards and not allow the Huskies to have too many second chance opportunities.
In their win over Louisville, Sutton was 3 for 5 beyond the 3-point line an he will have to drain a few long bombs so the Huskies do not pack the lane.
Look for the Huskies to have too much offense for the Spartans to handle. The Spartans are a hard-nosed defensive team, but it will not be enough tonight, as the Huskies will win this game, cover the spread, and move into the National Championship game.

No. 3 Villanova Wildcats (30-7) vs. No. 1 North Carolina Tar Heels -7 (32-4) O/U 159.5 8:47 PM ET
Online sportsbook Bovada, the newest college basketball odds provider to join the roster here at OddsShark.com, has the Tar Heels as 7-point favorites in this game with a total of 159.5. (They are offering 25% signup bonuses and the web's earliest sports odds).
The Wildcats come into the Final Four after beating Pittsburgh 78-76 in their last game, while the Tar Heels had an easier time beating Oklahoma 72-60 in the Elite 8.
While Villanova is not quite like the number eight seed that won the National Title in 1985 they are still a big underdog in this game.
Villanova has to play good all around defense and the whole team has to crash the boards and not let the Tar Heels dominate the glass. F Dante Cunningham (16.2 ppg 7.4 rpg) has to play well on both ends of the court, especially on defense, as the Wildcats do not have a big inside presence.
The Tar Heels have five players that are averaging in double figures led by F Tyler Hansbrough (20.9 ppg) and G Ty Lawson (16.3 ppg). How stacked are the Tar Heels? Well, Hansbrough is the leading scorer, but in the Tar Heels win over Oklahoma he only had eight points and they still cruised to an easy win.
If the Tar Heels can force the tempo in this game and score like they are used to, averaging 90.2 ppg, they should easily win this game.
The Tar Heels have way too much scoring and their inside-outside game will be too much for the Wildcats to handle. The Wildcats may stick around for the first half, but the Tar Heels will run away in the second half, as they will easily win this game and cover the spread.
