International Fight Week Events Lead Up to Biggest Card Ever at UFC 200

MMA fans and bettors have been waiting all year for UFC 200 at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 9, and they will have an opportunity to enjoy several other events in the days leading up to it during the fifth annual International Fight Week. Starting with fighter workouts on July 5, there will be plenty of chances to get up close and personal with some of MMA’s brightest stars like you’ve never seen them before.

Even though Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz will not headline the third and biggest fight card in three days, UFC 200 looks to be even better than originally planned with Jon Jones facing Daniel Cormier in a light heavyweight unification title bout. Interim champion Jones was supposed to meet champ Cormier in a rematch at UFC 197, but a foot injury kept the latter from competing. Jones earned a unanimous decision victory against Ovince Saint Preux instead in his first fight in more than 15 months after he was stripped of his title in April of 2015 following his role in a hit-and-run incident.

The UFC 200 card is loaded with three title bouts overall, including Miesha Tate versus Amanda Nunes for the women’s bantamweight championship and Frankie Edgar against Jose Aldo for the men’s interim featherweight belt. The return of former heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar will also be featured on the main card as he takes on Mark Hunt in the co-main event. Before that, UFC Fight Night 90 will happen at MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 7 with a lightweight title matchup between champ Rafael dos Anjos and Eddie Alvarez. The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale will be there too on July 8 with women’s strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk battling Claudia Gadelha again.

The UFC Fan Expo will kick off on July 8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and go through July 10, when the UFC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place. The three-day event features meet-and-greets, autograph sessions and MMA demonstrations and tournaments, with many of the fighters easily accessible to all who attend. Other fun activities going on during International Fight Week include the UFC Lip Sync Challenge at Lagasse’s Stadium on July 6, the Official UFC Pool Party at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and UFC Topgolf Challenge on July 7, and the UFC Ulti-Man 5K on July 9 at Town Square Las Vegas in addition to after-parties following every card.
