USFantasy Set to Launch in Las Vegas

Bettors in Las Vegas who were disappointed to see DraftKings and FanDuel disappear from the state of Nevada last October when the Gaming Commission started requiring a license to operate there will be happy to know they will have a new option this season. USFantasy will officially launch on September 2 and start promoting fantasy football contests at sportsbooks throughout Vegas well in advance of Week 1 in the NFL.

USFantasy is essentially parimutuel wagering on fantasy football that can be done in person at different books. Bettors can play three different ways, including a $1 entry fee that can win $1 million. The Million $ Seven contest involves picking players at quarterback, running back, wide receiver/tight end (three), kicker and team defense. If you pick the top point scorer in each category the same week, you could take home $1 million. If nobody picks the top scorer in all categories, the top finisher will receive a consolation prize of more than 20 percent of that particular week’s entry fees.

The second betting option is based on Win/Place/Show/Exacta/Trifecta and Daily Double wagering beginning at as little as $1. Just like horse racing, all the money is put into a pool, and payouts are handled accordingly based on the number of people betting. Wagers must be made before kickoff of the early Sunday games (10 a.m. PT).

The third betting option with USFantasy is a set of individual contests combining players from late Sunday, Sunday night and Monday night games. Four different contests will be offered from these games covering quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers and tight ends, with Win/Place/Show/Trifecta and Exacta wagering only allowed.

The USFantasy sports platform will initially launch in 13 participating casinos, with expansion into an additional 50 expected by September 19. This is currently the only fantasy skill-based wagering solution that has been approved by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Led by president Vic Salerno, the company will add different sports to its betting menu in addition to the NFL in the coming months, including MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR and PGA contests.
