Jonny OddsShark is 12-0 with CFL picks

We’re past the Fourth of July and only a few weeks away from NFL training camps but for those who can’t wait to bet on football, there’s always the CFL

The Canadian Football League season kicked off three weeks ago and even if you don’t know the game well, you can always make a bet or two with a little bit of advice from OddsShark’s sports expert, Jon Campbell

Over three weeks of CFL play, Campbell is 12-0 with his picks. Before the season began, he pointed out the value in taking underdogs. Through the first two weeks, underdogs were 8-0 ATS, but they went 1-3 last weekend, making their record 9-3 so far this season.

“It’s really going to be week to week for me now even though I said to watch for underdogs through the first four weeks before the season began,” says Campbell. Dogs went 11-4-1 against the spread through the first four weeks of the 2016 season.

“Oddsmakers are onto the underdog value after dogs went 8-0 against the spread through the first two weeks,” Campbell says. “But it’s a tight league and anyone can beat anyone on a given night so I often look for value in taking the points in the CFL.”

Looking ahead, now that the underdog streak has cooled, Campbell says it will come down to paying attention to the details, which isn’t tough since the league only has nine teams. Campbell says he’s been successful because he’s making decisions based on how teams are adjusting this year.

“I think the odds have been largely reflective of the perception of what teams were last year compared to what they are this year. Three teams have new starting QBs (Saskatchewan, Montreal, Ottawa) and Toronto has a new head coach. I’ve just been able to get a good read on how teams have changed early on this year.”
