Auburn bests LSU in defensive battle

Despite having a 309-181 advantage in total yards, No.6 LSU could not put a touchdown on the board, and lost to SEC rival No.3 Auburn 7-3 at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday.

Auburn just covered the 3.5-point spread at home, but the ten points scored was UNDER the posted total of 39.5.

Brandon Cox was 11-for-20 for 110 yards and a pick, and rushed for the game's only touchdown. Kenny Irons had 25 carries for 68 yards for the Tigers.

JaMarcus Russell went 20-for-37 for 267 yards to lead the Tiger attack, and Craig Davis had seven catches for 96 yards for LSU.
