Tigers claw their way to Champs Sports Bowl

James Davis rushed for 144 yards and ran in for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to seal a 19-10 victory for the No. 23 Clemson Tigers against the Colorado Buffaloes in the Champs Sports Bowl on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, Colorado was able to cover the 11-point spread. The game’s final score fell way UNDER the posted total (48).

Charlie Whitehurst completed 22-of-30 passes for 210 yards, while rushing for a TD and getting picked off once. Jad Dean kicked two field goals to help out in the victory for Clemson.

Brian White tossed a two-yard touchdown to Quinn Sypniewski, who finished the game with four catches and 50 yards receiving for Colorado.
