Knights make lead count

The UCF Knights jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead, and held on to beat the UAB Blazers 31-22 at the Citrus Bowl on Saturday.

The Knights covered the 3-point spread at home, and the 53 points scored were OVER the posted total of 46.5.

Kyle Israel had a great day, going 19-for-22 for 267 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Jason Peters gained 129 yards and a major in 19 rushing attempts for the Knights.

Joseph Webb put up a valiant effort, going 25-for-41 for 289 yards, while also running in a touchdown. Willie Edwards had five catches for 100 yards for the Blazers.
