Buckeyes cruise past Northwestern

The No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes upped their season record to 8-2 after handing the No. 25 Northwestern Wildcats a 48-7 loss on Saturday afternoon.

The Buckeyes were listed as 20-point favorites in this one and easily covered the spread. The game’s final score just fell UNDER the posted total (57.5).

Quarterback Troy Smith rushed for a pair of touchdowns, while Antonio Pittman rushed for 135 yards and a TD on 18 carries. Maurice Wells and Erik Haw added a rushing TD each for the Buckeyes.

Brett Basanez threw a 5-yard TD pass to Tyrell Sutton to cap off the game’s opening drive, but that was the only scoring the Wildcats could do in the game.
