Chippewas leave Rockets grounded

Kent Smith threw for 189 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday to lift the Central Michigan Chippewas to a 21-17 win over the Toledo Rockets.

The Chippewas won this game as a 7.5-point underdog at home. The game’s combined 38 points fell UNDER the posted total (54.5).

Smith also added 89 yards and TD on the ground in the win. Damien Linson and Justin Harper had a touchdown catch each for Central Michigan.

Bruce Gradkowski completed 28-of-45 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Nick Moore had nine catches for 101 yards and a TD for the Rockets.
