Chippewa defence controls Ball State

Central Michigan allowed only 49 yards of rushing offence in an 18-7 victory over Ball State at Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Saturday.

The Chippewas barely covered the 10-point spread at home, while the 25 points scored were well UNDER the posted total of 59.

Dan LeFevour went 18-for-30 for 172 yards and an interception, but ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns. Bryan Anderson had eight catches for 80 yards for the Chippewas.

Nate Davis was a decent 23-for-29 for 159 yards, but threw a pick as well. Louis Johnson caught five passes for 50 yards for the Cardinals.
