Lobos hold on to early lead

The New Mexico Lobos jumped out to a 14-point lead to beat the UTEP Miners 26-13 at University Stadium on Saturday.

New Mexico covered the 9-point spread at home, but the 39 points scored was UNDER the posted total of 54.

Chris Nelson was 9-for-16 for 62 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, and Rodney Ferguson ran for 162 yards on 34 carries for the Lobos.

Jordan Palmer went 26-for-36 for 211 yards and one touchdown, while Daniel Robinson caught six balls for 97 yards and a major for the Miners.
