Panthers edge Buccaneers

John Kasay kicked a 46-yard field goal with seven seconds remaining in the fourth quarter Sunday, to give the Carolina Panthers a 26-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Panthers had been favored by 3-points in the game, but were unable to cover the spread. The combined score went OVER the posted over/under total (33.5).

Jake Delhomme completed 22-of-36 passes for 272 yards with a touchdown for Carolina. Keyshawn Johnson caught seven passes for 97 yards with a touchdown and also rushed in for a score.

Bucs’ quarterback Chris Simms completed 13-of-24 passes for 139 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Carnell Williams rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.
