Tigers squeak past Aggies in opener

The Clemson Tigers got six field goals from Jad Dean on Saturday as they upset the No. 17 Texas A&M Aggies by a 25-24 score.

Tigers QB Charlie Whitehurst went 14-of-20 for 187 yards in the game. Chansi Stuckey returned a punt for a Clemson touchdown.

Reggie McNeal completed 8-of-16 passes for 111 yards for Texas A&M. Courtney Lewis ran for two Aggies scores, and Chad Schroeder had a TD reception.
