Crimson Tide swamps Gators

The Alabama Crimson Tide overwhelmed the Florida Gators to post an impressive 31-3 victory on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide was a slim 3-point underdog at home but raced out to a 24-3 halftime lead on their way to outright victory. The final combined tally of 34 was UNDER the posted over/under mark of 46.

Alabama QB Brodie Croyle fired three TD passes while completing 13-of-17 attempts for 287 yards to lead the 15th-ranked Crimson Tide to an upset win over the fifth-ranked Gators. Tide wideout Tyrone Prothro hauled in five receptions for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while running back Kenneth Darby rumbled for 105 yards on 16 carries.

Florida QB Chris Leak was sacked four times and managed to complete only 16-of-37 passing attempts for 186 yards as he was harried all day by a charged-up 'Bama defence. Gators' WR Dallas Baker caught six balls for 119 yards.

Alabama improves to 5-0 this season, while Florida falls to 4-1.
