'Bama avoids upset with overtime win

John Parker Wilson hit Le'Ron McClain with a two-yard touchdown pass in overtime to give Alabama a 26-23 overtime win against Mississippi at Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday.

The Crimson Tide did not cover the 16-point spread at home, but the 49 points scored were OVER the posted total of 37.

Wilson was 16-for-28 for 205 yards and two touchdowns, while Kenneth Darby ran for 157 yards on 24 carries for the Crimson Tide.

Brent Schaeffer went 13-for-20 for 163 yards and a score, and Mike Wallace caught three passes for 87 yards and a touchdown for the Rebels.
