Scarlet Knights tame Huskies

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights scored touchdowns on a fumble return and a blocked punt Sunday night as they defeated the Connecticut Huskies 24-13.

The Scarlet Knight had been favored by 20.5-points in the game, but could not cover the large spread. The combined score fell UNDER the posted over/under total (39.5).

Rutgers’ running back Ray Rice rushed for 79 yards on 22 carries with a touchdown. Mike Teel struggled, completing 11-of-24 passes for 123 yards with no touchdowns and an interception.

Donald Brown III rushed for 199 yards on 27 carries with two touchdowns for Connecticut. D.J. Hernandez completed 8-of-17 passes for 67 yards with an interception.
