Ducks fly past Cougars

The Oregon Ducks trailed by four points at the half Thursday night but caught fire after the break to defeat the Houston Cougars 38-24.

The Ducks had been 7.5-point favorite in the game and were able to cover the spread. The combined score was OVER the night’s posted over/under total (56.5).

Ducks’ quarterback Kellen Clemens completed 29-of-47 passes for 348 yards with a pair of touchdowns. Kicker Paul Martinez booted five field goals.

Kevin Kolb threw a pair of touchdown passes for the Cougars, but also threw two interceptions on 25-of-43 passing for 333 yards.

Oregon hosts Montana next week, while Houston takes on Sam Houston State at home.
