The month of October has boxing action every weekend for boxing betting fans, and the online sportsbooks already have moneyline options on most of the fights in October and will add props as each event date grows closer.
October fights of note include an IBF Middleweight title bout between Jermain Taylor and Sam Soliman, as well as an IBF Light Middleweight bout between Cornelius Bundrage and Carlos Molina.
On October 4 Sam Soliman will defend his new IBF Middleweight title against Jermain Taylor. Current Sportsbook boxing odds have the champ handicapped as the -365 favorite while the Taylor upset will pay +275.
Taylor has put together a string of four straight wins against lesser opponents to earn his shot at another belt, but his best days look to be behind him. We expect Soliman to bring a pace that Taylor can’t handle for a unanimous decision win.
On October 11 Carlos Molina will attempt to defend his IBF Light Middleweight strap with a victory over Cornelius Bundrage. Oddsmakers at Sportsbook currently have boxing odds that favor Molina at -350. That line opened at -169, indicating that boxing fans are one-sided thus far towards the champ.
Action on Bundrage will currently pay +260. The 41-year-old will be in tough against a consummate pro who is 10 years younger and holds a reach advantage. This one should go the distance and result in a unanimous decision win for Molina.
On October 18 undefeated WBA and IBO Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will put his titles on the line against veteran Marco Antonio Rubio. Current boxing odds at Sportsbook have the champ handicapped as a -10,000 favorite while the unlikely upset payday on Rubio is at +3500.
If you have a big bankroll this fight should be a steamroll by the champ. Save a freakish injury, Golovkin will be too fast and too strong for Rubio to contend with from the Sportsbook bell.
