We have begun to scrape the bottom of the pop culture barrel and we found this. Chris Brown and Soulja Boy are apparently set to compete in a “boxing” match at some point in 2017.
In what is surely a complete publicity stunt, we have these two “artists” filling the internet with macho posturing in an attempt to be somewhat relevant and to cash in on PPV dollars. If these two do fight, something that you could justifiably be skeptical of, Brown will be the favorite according to oddsmakers. He has opened as a -155 favorite for a potential boxing match with Soulja Boy, who comes back at +115.
If it’s not bad enough, legitimate boxers are getting involved in this debacle. Mike Tyson has publicly stated that he would be willing to teach Brown “every dirty trick in the book” ahead of the fight. Floyd Mayweather and his promotion company have also gotten in on the buzz, as ‘Money’ himself posted several photos on Instagram hyping the fight.
According to TMZ, this fight could not legally take place within the U.S. Instead, rumors are suggesting this three-round fight will take place in Dubai on pay-per-view.
