Boxing: Fury vs Wallin Odds and Prediction

Fury vs Wallin Betting Odds

Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury returns to the ring on September 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to defend his WBO Inter-Continental heavyweight title against Otto Wallin. The Brit, Fury, is a huge -3500 favorite against the Sweden native, Wallin, who is coming back at +1200.

Odds Analysis

Once again, Fury has seemingly hand-chosen his next stepping stone as the out-of-ring negotiations for a rematch with Deontay Wilder continue. Since his return last June, the Gypsy King had two warm-up bouts with Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta before the first fight with Wilder that ended in a split-decision draw.

Fury returned to the ring in June and demolished Tom Schwarz and now fights another relative unknown, Otto Wallin. The odds are closer than Schwarz when Fury closed at -5000, but the idea is still the same.

Meanwhile, Wallin enters the ring as an underdog for the second time in his last three fights, as he was a slight dog vs Adrian Granat last August when he scored the unanimous-decision win. The Sweden native does carry a 20-0 record with him but his opponents have a combined 259 losses.

How Will This Fight Play Out?

Fury put on a tremendous display against Tom Schwarz, putting the Germany native away in the second round after showing off his outstanding defensive skills. The Brit may be one of the best true boxers in the heavyweight division with tremendous head movement and footwork while also having long stiff jabs that keep his opponent at bay.

Wallin is an aggressive fighter who puts his head down and goes to work early in fights. The southpaw does a good job throwing hands to the body to try to slow his foe and he searches for that liver to put them away. Although there is a lot of promise for the 28-year-old, this is a massive step up in competition and as mentioned above, this is primarily another tune-up fight for Fury as he preps for the Wilder rematch in early 2020.

Prediction: Tyson Fury (-3500) via knockout (-275) rounds 7-9 (+275)
