Vasyl Lomachenko Jorge Linares

Lomachenko vs Linares Betting Odds

Vasyl Lomachenko will make his highly anticipated return to the squared circle when he moves up to challenge Jorge Linares for the WBA lightweight championship on May 12 at Madison Square Garden. Lomachenko is a heavy favorite with the Ukrainian being listed at -1400 with Linares coming back at +750.

Lomachenko, who is viewed by many as the best pound-for-pound boxer right now, is 10-1 with eight knockouts during his relatively young professional career. He is only getting better as well, with the two-time Olympic gold medalist going 3-0 in 2017 with no opponent making it to the 10th round.

Linares is the consensus top lightweight in boxing, as the 32-year-old has won 13 consecutive bouts – including back-to-back victories over Anthony Crolla in Crolla’s hometown. Throughout Linares’ long career, he has held belts at four different weight classes from super bantamweight to lightweight.

Both fighters are expert tacticians and masters of technique while still being entertaining to audiences. Though Lomachenko’s fight against Guillermo Rigondeaux likely got more attention and odds suggest otherwise, this bout vs Linares might be the most difficult challenge of the 30-year-old’s career.
