Benjamin Eckstein’s Cold Comfort

LAS VEGAS — BRRRRRRRR....

Since it’s gonna be ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT degrees in Vegas all week, thought you might wanna know how to cool off if you’re coming to town. And drop the temperature by OVER 100 degrees. How, Eck???

Well, you can meet me at the Minus5 Degree Ice Bar.

According to the folks that run the place, they claim to be the premium ice attraction in the United States with three locations here in Vegas. The original one at Mandalay Bay, one at the Venetian, and the latest spot at The LINQ Promenade. Everything inside the ice bar is made of ice (DUH) – the walls, the seats and even the glasses that you enjoy your beverage in. I can attest to all this because we CHILLED at the Ice Bar a few years ago.

There are a number of different packages, and prices, so choose carefully. They range from $13 for kids up to 75 bucks for you and me.

The $13 package is the Kids Cool Experience for ages 7-16, which includes entry, gloves and use of a parka.

If your kids have been really good, buy ’em the Kids V-ICE-P Experience for 29 bones. Also ages 7-16, and it includes a souvenir gift and one Ice Mocktail, obviously, NON-Alcoholic.

The regular price for the rest of the world to get in is $24 and you get the gloves and parka.

If you wanna upgrade and spend $49, you’ll get two ice cocktails.

At the top of the ladder, it’s the V-ICE-P Experience, which gets you in with gloves, a faux fur coat, two ice cocktails, a souvenir gift and one digital photo.

If you’re thinking about taking a group or creating a special event, they’re gonna throw you vodka tastings, photo packages, custom ice sculptures, branded merchandise and various entertainment acts.

ICE ICE BAABBBEEE!!!

And my guy tells me you can get cellphone reception, so you can jump into your online sportsbook account at Sportsbook, and make some money at the British Open. If you can find a matchup between Shane Lowry and anyone, TAKE Lowry.

He might not always win, but he knows how to go low on Saturday and Sunday. Lowry just squeezed into the weekend at the Irish Open after two rather pedestrian Sportsbook rounds, then caught FIRE! He closed with a 68 and 67 for a top-10 finish. So, it’s Shane against ANYONE for the money!

You don’t have to be a chick to DIG the long ball. If you wanna make some cash on Monday night at the Home Run Derby, we GOTTA put you on the Polar Bear, Pete Alonso, at around +400. Alonso has won the last two Derbys and even has SPECIAL bats made just for the occasion. That’s COMMITMENT! And the Polar Bear also fits in PERFECTLY with our ICE themed column!
