Total Rewards Program

The Total Rewards Program links together casinos across the United States in a common effort to award loyal customers with additional savings and special offers. Each time you spend money at a participating location, there’s a strong change that you’ll be able to earn reward points. These points can then be redeemed for discounted or free casino games, event tickets, and much more.

Participating Casinos and Resorts

At the time of this writing, 39 resorts and casinos were participating in the Total Rewards Program. I’ve listed 10 of them here, and you can find the complete list by consulting their website.

Total Rewards Casinos & Resorts
  • Bally’s Atlantic City
  • Caesars Windsor
  • Horseshoe Southern Indiana
  • Horseshow Bossier City
  • Harrah’s New Orleans
  • Harrah’s Reno
  • Paris Las Vegas
  • Bally’s Las Vegas
  • Caesars Palace Las Vegas
  • Harrah’s Las Vegas

How to Earn Reward Points

Each time you spend money at participating locations across the country, you have the opportunity to earn points known as Reward Credits. Here’s a breakdown of how expenditures translate into points.

Ways to Earn Points
  • Poker – Reward points are accrued at different rates, which depend on the type of poker you’re playing and the length of you session.
  • Table Games – Several factors govern the number of points you’ll receive, including the type of game, length of play, and your average bet.
  • Slots – For most slots, you’ll earn 1 Reward Credit for each $5 you spend. Video poker, meanwhile, earns you 1 point for every $10. Some games do have a lower earn rate, but this should be indicated on the machine.
  • Shopping – For each $1 spent at an approved retail outlet, you’ll earn 1 point.
  • Dining – $1 equals 1 Reward Credit at participating restaurants.
  • Hotel – Each time you spend $1 on a hotel room, you’ll receive 1 point in return.
  • Amenities – Whether it’s golf, swimming fees, or a trip to the spa, spending cash on these amenities earns you 1 point for each $1 spent.

Tier Credits

Tier credits are different than reward points, as these are tallied up throughout the calendar year to determine your tier score. The ratio, however, is the same as those mentioned in the previous section. The only addition is the Starwood Preferred Guests option, which awards 100 tier credits (limit 2,500 per year) for staying at participating hotels.

If you earn enough tier credits in a 24-hour period, you’re also eligible to receive bonus credits. Here’s a breakdown of how this works:

Bonus Credit Tiers
  • 500 Tier Credits in a Day = 125 bonus credits
  • 1,000 Tier Credits in a Day = 1,000 bonus credits
  • 2,500 Tier Credits in a Day = 5,000 bonus credits and instant platinum status
  • 5,000 Tier Credits in a Day = 10,000 bonus credits and instant diamond status

Total Rewards Tiers

There are four tiers available for Total Rewards members, with each level offering greater perks. These include:

Reward Tiers
  • Gold – 0 to 4,999 tier credits
  • Platinum – 5,000 to 14,999 tier credits
  • Diamond – 15,000 to 149,999 tier credits
  • Seven Stars – 150,000 or more tier credits

Total Rewards Membership Benefits

Various benefits are available to members based on their tier. There are 10 items available to members from all tiers, and from there the list becomes more selective. One example would be the discount at casino gift shops, as this begins at 10% for gold members and culminates with a 25% discount for Seven Stars members.

The platinum level has five options that are unavailable to gold members, while the diamond level has six items that aren’t available to platinum members. There there’s the Seven Stars level, which requires a person to have significant resources in order to be a member.

The following benefits are only available to those with Seven Stars status. This list is not complete, as the perks of being in this tier are too numerous to mention in the space provided.

Seven Stars Perks
  • Special appreciation gift
  • Free hotel accommodations
  • Exclusive invitations to special events
  • Share your status with someone else via the Companion Card
  • VIP airport ground transportation within 50 miles
  • When checking in, you may upgrade to the best available room
  • Free annual retreat to any casino or resort that participates in the Total Rewards program
  • Receive 15% off all purchases made through the Total Rewards catalog
  • Receive a free voyage on the Norwegian Cruise Line
  • Access to signature experiences such as deep sea fishing, wine tours, African safaris, and premium seats to international sporting events

Redeeming Points

Once you start accumulating Reward Points, you’ll want to redeem them at some point. Here are some of the things that you can spend them on:

Redeem Points
  • Show tickets
  • Entry into WSOP events
  • Free play at participating casinos
  • Spa services and treatments
  • Meals at over 250 participating restaurants
  • Hotel rooms from Las Vegas to Atlantic City
  • Shopping discounts
  • Rounds of golf and professional instruction

If you’re a frequent guest at participating casinos, it’s a wise move to join the Total Rewards Program. Participation allows you to save money, and those with the finances or luck to advance to higher levels can expect a ton of intriguing perks. While you might not equate playing blackjack with excursions to swim with great white sharks, this program seamlessly links the two together.
